Small Town "Fear Factor Challange"
Sunday evening, the last evening at camp. So many mixed emotions. It has been a "full week", lots of meetings, eating, talk times, etc. You come to the end of the week, wondering where the week went. It seems you had just gotten there. People were just saying hello, now they are saying goodbye. Another whole year before the next "camp out week". Suzanne and Thomas had been there, such a special time. They are now gone back home. This gramma shed her share of "tears". She was heard saying quite often the one evening, "my grandson is gone"!! This gramma had to practice with another lady for a song with the guitar, and she was a "teary mess", and kept apologizing. Only to get hug after hug. You see, this gramma had only seen her daughter and grandson twice in a whole year. Pretty bad, huh??!! Wal-Mart has been good in lots of ways, but not good for gramma, daughter, and grandson time.
The evening meeting was over, snack time had just ocurred, one more time, and the last for that week. Good-Byes were being said. In walks 4 "proud, smiling teens", and proceeds to tell me they had taken the fear factor challange!! And they had pretty funny grins on their faces. They had "all" eaten grasshoppers. The one proceeds to say, "ya, I threw up with my first one, but it was ok after that!! I of course, kept thinking they were pulling my leg, but knew in my heart that they were telling the truth. From the looks, and grins on their faces.
I of course in turn, said, "couldn't you go over to our cabin next?? We have so "many" grasshoppers over there. More than enough for all!! But of course by then they were full!! I kept saying, couldn't you have at least roasted them in the fire first?? Maybe dipped them in some chocolate??
The moral of this story??? If you come next summer, bring your grass hopper nets, and some chocolate!!
Now, did you expect a different "moral to the story"? Hummmmmm????? It's the one that doesn't make me teary. If you think I don't have a "serious bone" in me??? You're wrong. I spent a very "teary" week at camp, and this part to the story makes me giggle!! Wascally Wabbits have to giggle ya know!! My heart was very "full" my week at camp. Full and overflowing. I love you all very much!!

Grass Hoppers In Full Bloom
The name of the lady in the picture with Ralph and Lou Sutera? Her name is Constance. One night after our supper feast in the dining hall, I decided to go sit beside her and see how her day had gone. She proceeded to let me in on a funny little story.
She said, "You know, I have been a nurse for quite a few years, and so when I saw our dear brother _____ lean his right arm down his right side like he did, during our meeting, I was quite concerned. I thought he might be having a stroke or heart attack. He seemed to be holding on to his leg, "squeezing" at his leg. But after a bit, he straightened back up, and seemed to be alright. Then later on, he did the same thing, so I was again, concerned.
After the meeting was over, him and I were apologizing to each other, for maybe bothering the other. He, very quietly, with a slow little grin on his face, said, "Ya know?? I'm not one to disrupt a meeting, but I had a "grass hopper" in my pants!" And I thought at one point he was dead, but then he sprang back to life!!

Ralph And Lou Sutera (The Sutera Twins)

Miracles Still Do Happen In Our Time!!
We just had the "awsome" privilidge of having the"Sutera Twins" at our little week long "Thorhild Family Camp Out Week" . What an "Honor" it was. The Lord worked it out for myself to be there for a whole week, this time. I am very thankful, and came back very "full". Suzanne and Thomas were also able to share with us in our week from Tuesday till Saturday late afternoon. Suzanne shared 4 very special songs with eveyone, while there. They were very powerful songs. Thank you Suzanne!
I will let Ed tell the "rest of the story". Suzanne, don't let dad tell it all. I would love to hear from you too!
